New Chapter Application
Start a New DMA Chapter – Dance Masters of America welcomes educators who want to bring DMA to their region. If there isn’t a chapter in your area, we’re here to help you build one. The National Board provides guidance, sample bylaws, and step-by-step support throughout the process.
Build Your Founding Membership
To establish a new chapter, gather a founding group of at least 15 individuals who wish to become DMA members. These may include educators pursuing certification through examination, professional or degreed members, or partnered members. This founding group creates the core leadership and membership base for your chapter.
Apply for Chapter Affiliation
- Form Your Organization
If you are not already established as an organization, create your group and obtain a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN). DMA can provide guidance and starter documents to simplify the process. - Complete the Application
Submit the online New Chapter Application with your organization’s contact information and a list of current officers. - Submit Membership and Governance Documents
Provide your roster of founding members and officers, along with your bylaws and governing rules. The National Board can supply a general bylaws template to use as a starting point. - Partnership Review
The National Office will review your materials and work with you to finalize affiliation and welcome your chapter into the DMA community.
Our Commitment to You
The National Board is committed to supporting new chapters every step of the way. From organizational setup to governance guidance, we partner with you to build a strong, sustainable chapter that serves your local dance community.
